Kenyans for South Africa
By NATION Correspondent
Kenya will participate in the Africa junior badminton championships
to be held in Pretoria, South Africa, from July 24-30.
Fred Gituku, the Kenya Badminton Association assistant secretary,
said, in a press release, that a squad of six boys and girls have been
selected to start training for the event. National junior champions Chiraq
Dasani and Anjali Gudka are in the squad.
The final tour party will be named later. As part of the training
programme, KBA will hold the Puri tournaments at the Premier Club from
June 19-20. "The performance of the players selected will be evaluated
at this tournament and a final team named," Gituku said.
In another development, Robert Mbugua and Dasani have been nominated
by the KBA to attend a training seminar organised by the International
Badminton Federation in Malaysia.
