Transcom look to make big comeback

By NATION Correspondent

Medisca Thika United are still in the driving seat after last weekend's Nationwide Super League matches.

The side, hoping to break the long absence of Thika clubs in the Premier League, have 20 points from nine matches, just a point ahead of Kenya Pipeline who have, however, played two games less.

Last weekend, Pipeline beat Nandi Tea FC 2-0 at Nandi Hills in one of their two matches.

Pipeline are coached Robert Matano.

National Bank are third with 17 points from ten games after settling for a 0-0 draw against Transcom in their last game at the weekend.

Transcom, coached by Sammy Abidah, must raise their game if they hope to reap maximum points from their Western Kenya tour this weekend.

The former premiership side is ninth with 11 points from eight games.

On Saturday, Transcom face off against Nandi Tea in Nandi in what is expected to be a tough match for the visitors and on Sunday, they wind up their Western Kenya tour when they clash with another ex-premiership side, Kisumu All Stars in Kisumu.

Kisumu All Stars, relegated from the premiership last season, are fourth with 16 points from seven matches, one point more than another former Premier League side Panpaper of Webuye.

NYS Garissa bring the rear in the 16-team league with no point from their nine games.

Nandi Tea also have no point although they have only played one game with Star Dust with three points from seven games.

A total of fifteen matches - seven on Saturday and eight the next day - are planned to be played in various venues through the country.

After hitting Sher Agencies 1- 0 last weekend in Naivasha , the unbeaten Medisca Thika United travel Webuye on Saturday to play hosts Panpaper and the next day they wind up their tour with a match against Werstern Kenya Stima at Bukhungu Stadium, Kakamega.

This weekend, newcomers Cook 'N' Lite will host National Youth Service Garissa (NYS) at Mombasa Municipal stadium on Saturday before inviting Kitale FC at the same venue.
