A Kenyan has been appointed to a senior position in the World Bank.

Ms Mary Okello will serve on the External Gender Consultative Group. She is a former senior advisor to the president of the African Development Bank, and has also served as the vice-president of Women's World Banking. She is among 14 people appointed worldwide to the group.
