Reject Moi's suggestion

I fully agree with the Opposition leaders who have rejected the proposal by President Moi that the constitutional reform process be referred back to Parliament.

Kanu fears reform because it has the most to lose from a free and fair forum that will articulate the interests of the people.

The party and President Moi must be told that the Constitution belongs to all Kenyans. It not their personal property.

The MPs can be easily bribed, bullied or persuaded to vote in the interest of Kanu. This latest attempt by Kanu to perpetuate itself in power must be resisted by reverting to "mass action".

Kamau Karanja,

United Kingdom.
