Call envoy over assault
Reuben Kirangi's assault by policemen while in transit in Milan, Italy,
(DN, Jun 9) arouses undescribable disgust.
This was despicable act of brutality. It should be strongly condemned
by all Kenyans and others who care about human rights.
Perhaps the first step should be to have the Italian ambassador
summoned by the government in part of the an effort to shed more light
on the humiliation of the Kenyan traveller. This is an this insult to the
entire country and all its citizens.
I'm waiting to hear what other steps the government will take in response
to Kirangi's beating.
Dennis Awour,
Gilgil.
