Mathare Hit

By NATION TEAM

Telkom 1 Mathare United 0

Alex Oweya's 72nd minute goal sank Mathare United 1-0 in a tough Premier League match at Kisumu's Moi Stadium.

Both Telkom and Mathare missed numerous scoring chances.

Nzoia 4 Coast Stars 1

Nzoia rolled over Coast Stars, hitting the Mombasa side 4-1 at Nzoia Sugar Stadium.

Linus Juma scored a double in the 43rd and 60th minutes with Peter Makoyoko (35th) and Wanyonyi Wepukhulu (75th) adding the other goals.

Donald Otieno pulled one back for Stars in the 70th minute.

Utalii 2 Re-Union 0

Re-Union too failed to better their chances of surviving in next year's league as they watched Utalii score a goal in each half to win this city derby 2-0.

Elkanah Swakah scored the first goal for Utalii in the 35th minute with Gilbert Obonyo adding the second in the 67th.

Eldoret FC 2 Ulinzi 1

Veteran Andrew Khaemba scored a double as Eldoret FC hit Ulinzi 2-1 in a middle-of-the-table match at Kipchoge Keino Stadium.

Khaemba scored in the fifth and 47th minutes with David Wanyoike drawing one back from the penalty spot after an Ulinzi player was fouled in the box.

In Mumias, Kisumu All Stars made good their threat not to travel to Mumias Complex for their match against title contenders Mumias Sugar.

The packed stadium, match officials and Mumias players waited in vain before the Kisumu side was declared a no-show.

On Friday, All Stars hit at the Kenya Football Federation for altering their earlier fixture against Mathare United at Kisumu scheduled for yesterday.

This is the third time the bottom of the table side has failed to honour a league fixture having previously done so against AFC Leopards and Gor Mahia.
