General Manager Michael Joseph, responding to the Rev Zebedi A. Muga’s criticism
of their introduction of a Sh100 scratch card, says: "This followed numerous requests
from our subscribers; a need that we felt had to be fulfilled. The Easy 100 scratch
card gives our subscribers the ability to make those urgent or emergency calls,
especially when they do not have sufficient credit." He adds: "We have also introduced
Simu ya Jamii - a community phone service where people make calls for as
little as Sh5."
As the corrupt judges and magistrates
pack up and leave during the purge on the Judiciary, Wambilianga Wamuseyi of Eldoret
would like to see the net cast wider. Says he: "I hope corrupt policemen and women
will soon be identified and also shown the door."
This is a big joke by the Postal
Corporation of Kenya, isn't it? Felix Ayoo says that Posta's so-called Express
Money Order service takes more than a week to deliver cash from Nyandarua to Mombasa.
"How express can this be? Or don't they understand the meaning of the word? Then
how long will an ordinary money order take?"
Nairobi resident K. Sizzla wishes
to thank City Hall for rising to the occasion and diligently carrying out one
of its duties. The council workers managed to unblock the drainage on Haile Selassie
Avenue, but would they please return the manhole covers now? he appeals. "Pedestrians,
especially in the area near Co-operative Bank, risk falling into the deep holes,"
he cautions.
Fifth Parklands Avenue, Nairobi,
is no longer an attractive and convenient place to live in, says Dilip Shah, adding:
"We hardly receive any water in our taps." But what annoys Dilip even more is
that the Water and Sewerage Department cannot be easily reached by telephone.
"Who do I complain to?" poses Dilip, whose contact is Tel. 0722-888200.
House of Manji biscuit lover Jackie
Mwangi's craving can now be satisfied. The Baring shortcake biscuits are now available
in "the more affordable 100gms handy pack", says Christopher Nzioka. These packs
can be found in supermarkets and in other outlets. The marketing team will be
reached at i info@houseofmanji.co.ke
for more information.
Do we, as a nation, actually value
education? Nickson Ochieng-Orwa of Nakuru is stunned by the Narc Government's
decision to pay councillors much higher salaries than what the public universities'
Vice-Chancellors earn. "At this rate, who will convince our children that it pays
to acquire higher education when those teaching them are paupers, while semi-literate
hecklers get paid more?"
Have a valuable day, won't you!
