Ebola Warning on Uganda, Congo Border
A HEALTH notice to Ugandans living on the Congolese frontier to be on the lookout for people with symptoms of the deadly Ebola virus came amid reports, denied by the government, that at least one person had succumbed to it.

Dar in 'Shock' Request for Election Funds

TANZANIA LAST week presented donors with a request for Tsh637 million ($792,250) to conduct country-wide local government elections scheduled to start on November 8. A diplomatic source told The EastAfrican that the request, which was presented by the Ministry of Regional Administration and Local Government, "shocked" donors because it came too late to be worthwhile and did not include expenses for the awareness programmes that are supposed to be conducted.
