Airport transfers

NAIROBI

The Jomo Kenyatta International Airport is 15 km out of town off the road to Mombasa. The cheapest way of getting into town is on the city bus No 34. The trip takes about 45 minutes, more in peak periods.

A far more pleasant way of getting into town is by taxi, and this is really the only option if you have a dawn or late-night flight. The standard fare is Ksh 900.

To Wilson Airport (for small aircraft to Masai Mara, Malindi, Lamu, etc) take bus Nos 14, 24 or 124 Major hotels offer a country shuttle. Please enquire at the reception for both airports.

MOMBASA

There's a regular public bus which goes to the airport. Any 'Port Reitz' matatu will take you past the airport turn-off (ask to be dropped off) from where it's about a 10 minute walk. There are plenty taxis at the airport, fares depends on your final destination: Mombasa Island, North coast, South Coast, Diani, Kilifi.
